Accessing Justice — UK Supreme Court Launches On-Demand Video

On Tuesday 5th April the UK Supreme Court announced it would launch an on demand video archive accessible for up to a year after cases have been completed. This is a welcome initiative and opens up the judicial process, improving confidence in the trial system and, hopefully, encouraging others to come forward with constitutional or judicial injustices. The issue of justice ‘being seen to be done’ is clearly crucial to strengthening the legitimacy of any court, when studying the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina we found that barriers to accessing trials was a key justification stated by victims and witnesses for not trusting the court processes.
